About

A perspective on what comes next.

The publication, its editorial perspective and how these essays are made.

Climate, civilisation and consequences

neutral.org is Tom’s publication about climate change and the future of civilisation. It explores what a warming planet may mean for food, water, migration, institutions and the generations who come after us.

A point of view, with sources

The essays take a position. Empirical claims draw on research and assessments linked in the text. Moral and political conclusions are editorial arguments. Scientific uncertainty is neither proof of safety nor a reason to present a possibility as an inevitable fact.

How the work is made

Research, drafting, translation and illustrations are assisted by AI. Translated editions receive an AI comparison against their English originals. They are not represented as human-edited or native-speaker-reviewed translations. Conceptual illustrations are labelled and are not photographs of real events.

Languages and corrections

The first three essays are available in English, Spanish, French, Hindi, Arabic and Simplified Chinese. Language links lead to the corresponding edition of the same text. Substantive corrections are made to the sources and their translations; update dates reflect real changes. You can send comments and corrections through the contact page.
